Hi !
)
I can’t wait to hear the podcast about Madrid .
Do you have any idea of what the demonstration was about ?
I have a general idea just looking at the pics (probably wasn’t a left-wing rally let’s put it that way
but maybe you can touch that subject in the pod.
enjoy your stay !

Scott, I love your available light night photos of Madrid scenes. They are beautiful. I hope you were able to do this hand-held and using a high iso setting. Looking forward to hearing your podcast on Madrid.

Hey Scott and Sheryl,
I’m loving the podcast and being able to travel with you guys in a virtual way!
The demonstration, could that have been the demonstration about the release of the ETA-guy?
Saw it on the news tonight. Here’s a link:

Thanks Ramon. They are hand-held high ISO, etc. Madrid is a city with lots going on at night, so it is fantastic to photograph.

Today is March 11, the anniversary of the 2004 terrorist train bombings in Madrid. There have been lots of demonstrations over the past few days relating to the anniversary of this event as well as to the ETA situation. Today there were several official ceremonies to observe 11-M, as it is known here, including the dedication of a new memorial by the King and Queen. We’re hoping to get some photos of the memorial tomorrow.

Bandini and Rorin, it was definitely at least somewhat related to the current ETA debate, but also having to do with 11-M anniversary which was just a couple of days after the event. Lots of demonstrations and events happened all through that week.

Thanks for listening Nuria and Elfred! Our Toledo podcast went up today and Madrid will be up in about a week. Needless to say, we loved Madrid. In the meantime, you can hear us in Madrid on Notes from Spain Podcast 56.
